Offered here is a truly incredible find for any fan of the classic series The Red Skelton Show or Entertainment Icon Red Skelton! This is a production tailored dancers tuxedo from The Red Skelton Show!
The blazer was tailored for Garrett Lewis who was a dancer on the series and went on to be a four time Academy Award nominated set designer. The inside tag is marked "Garrett Lewis" "Skelton" the writing is faint given the age (over 50 years old) but still legible. The top of the jacket also has a cloth label sewn on that faintly reads "Garrett" The blazer is missing the front button but appears to be in otherwise great condition.
The pants are labeled "Tom" likely for Tom Hansen whose dance troupe were regulars on the series. The pants have a slight split on the inner lining but are in overall great condition and don't appear to have any visible damage on the outside of the pants. There is a CBS barcode inside the pants that was likely added over the years while these were in the CBS wardrobe department.
The Red Skelton show, later renamed The Red Skelton Hour is widely considered Red Skelton's best work and one of the best series of its era.
This is INCREDIBLE! Props and Wardrobe from The Red Skelton Show are next to impossible to find given the age of the series.
It is highly unlikely another piece from this beloved show will surface anytime soon. If you want this great find act fast!

Q: How was this acquired?
A: This is an answer which varies from item to item. To ensure a large variety of memorabilia these pieces were obtained through various trusted sources including studio/memorabilia auctions, set sales, crew members, etc.
Q: Does this include a Certificate of Authenticity?
A: In general only items obtained through auction houses come with a Certificate of Authenticity from said auction house. Studios themselves rarely issue certificates with items sold. This is due to the time and cost it would take to have a department dedicated simply to pulling aside items, tagging them, logging them, creating a certificate and selling them. It is more time and cost effective for studios simply to have a sale and sell off everything on site or consign the entire production inventory to an outside auction house. This means any piece obtained outside of an auction house (studio sale, crew member, etc.) typically does not come with a Certificate. If a piece comes with a preexisting Certificate it will be directly mentioned in the listing. If one does not a Pure Magic Memorabilia Certificate of Authenticity will be included for your personal records and piece of mind.
Q: Are there ever multiples of the same prop/wardrobe item?
A: Yes! Typically productions will have multiples of nearly every item.  This is for several reasons but most commonly for reshoots/pick up shots and incase of damaged on set. The amount however varies depending on how prevalent the item is and how hard it is used.
