1980s Cast Owned SESAME STREET Varsity Jacket Coat Leather Wool Jim Henson1980s Cast Owned SESAME STREET Varsity Jacket Coat Leather Wool Jim Henson
Cast Owned SESAME STREET Varsity Jacket Coat Leather Wool Jim Henson Classic ** Made by Identity Inc with the ARROW leather company. Made locally in NYC.
** SIZE is a Womens Large (or a Mens Medium) i believe, but it most likely was custom ordered and fabricated for the Cast member, who was a girl. Please analyze the measurements, as this coat is extremely baggy, which was the style of the late 1980's. I'm sure the jacket loosened up with so much age and use as well. The jacket fits me and i'm a Men's Medium. There is lots of wear and signs of age on this jacket.
Shoulder to Shoulder = 21" Shoulder to Wrist = 24" Shoulder to Waist = 21"

** This is an extremely rare piece of Jim Henson History. It was custom made for cast member Carlota Zimmerman, in which "Carlota" is stitched in red on the front. You can google her Sesame Street videos on the internet. The condition is extremely used and aged, but in all the right ways, for the most part, making this piece even more unique and amazing. I have restored the piece, personally, with awesome results. The right leather arm had severe dehydration and excessive water damage, but since it was such a huge piece of the actresses' life she kept the piece in storage as a keepsake to her past. Who knows, maybe Jim Henson gave it to her personally. I'm an expert on this kind of stuff, and with some love i completely enriched and restored the leather, making it soft and flexible again. The water damaged right arm gave the piece a cracked and distorted look that cannot be reproduced or replicated. Many companies sell this distressed look, such as RRL who sells distressed jeans for 0 a piece. The jacket's wool areas may have a few dog hairs, the jacket was originally covered in a layer of it, but you can't tell. You can either customize the jacket and even refurbish it further, or you can just frame the piece. I personally won't take any less for this jacket because it would make a beautiful conversation piece for my future retail store. You can Dry Clean the piece when you receive it, that's the one step i rather the new owner does. The Liner is torn and the wool is extremely worn. A rare piece of Television History, no one else is selling anything remotely close to this.
